On the afternoon of July 14, the closing ceremony of 2019 Summer Camp for Excellent Students organized by the School of Business and Management of SISU was held in the Academic Hall on the 1st floor of the National Education Center of SISU. The associate professor, secretary of the party general branch of the School of Business and Management of SISU, Yong Xu and the associate professor, vice-dean of the School of Business and Management of SISU, Yun Qiao Wu, the faculty of School of Business and Management of SISU and all the students in the summer camp attended the closing ceremony.
The associate professor of School of Business and Management, Yong Xu delivered a speech at the closing ceremony and introduced from school, college and individual levels. At the school level, he related the development history of our school, mission and vision, and the great contribution made to the development of New China. At the college level, he introduced that the development direction of the college will be changed which is both an opportunity and a challenge for us and need to make further development in the process of constant exploration and research. At the individual level, A.P. Xu put forward his own views and opinions on the mission and tasks for contemporary college students and had great expectations for their future. Finally, I hoped that all the students in the summer camp can ignite a fire in the heart, continue to insist and work hard in academic research, and strive to achieve greater achievements. Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.
Yun Qiao Wu, the associate professor and vice-dean of the School of Business and Management, gave a speech on leadership and innovation to the summer camp’s students at the closing ceremony. First, he introduced what is leadership, and then described how to identify the characteristics of the object being led, and take pertinent methods to manage, and so as to maximize efficiency. Finally, hoping that students can improve their leadership level, put theoretical knowledge into practice, master the essence of management, and help future research and learning.
The college selected 25 excellent campers (Class A) and 16 excellent campers (Class B) from 60 admitted campers according to a series of assessments from written examinations, political examinations and interviews. Yong Xu, associate professor and secretary of the party general branch of the School of Business and Management and Yun Qiao Wu, associate professor and the vice-dean of the School of Business and Management issued the certificates of honor and took photos with the students.
In 2019, the a week-long summer camp of excellent students hosted by the School of Business and Management of SISU, invited a number of professors of management from Purdue University, University of North Carolina, University of Guelph, and University of Electronic Science and Technology, etc to give multi-fields lectures and to foster the students’ interest and evoke their enthusiasm towards academic research, and selected the outstanding campers according to the comprehensive performance. Thanks to all the professors, teachers and students who participated in this summer camp. Hoping that all of you can continue to work hard and look forward to having more students sign up for the summer camp hosted by our college. See you next year!
