The Key Laboratory of Applied Brain and Cognitive Sciences established in 2015, is a university-level public research platform of SISU. To raise funds with “Double-First Class” initiative, Project 211, the MOE, Shanghai Municipal Government and SISU, KLABCS is building a set of instruments, tools and experimental facilities that are required by the different stages of research in individual behavior, group response, subjective cognition and brain mechanism. The laboratory focuses on applied cognitive neuroscience in the fields of management, economics and linguistics. The institute of neuro-management in KLABCS is one of the best research teams in the field of cognitive neuroscience.
The academic team of KLABCS is gradually developed on the basis of the whole imported team from the University of Pennsylvania. Team members are successively selected from Yangtze river scholars, Shanghai Thousand Talents Program, Shanghai Distinguished Professor (Oriental scholar), chief scientist of the Key Project of NIH of the United States, New Century Outstanding Talents of the MOE, Shanghai Pujiang Scholars, and Chenguang Program. They have undertaken important scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Consulting Project of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Humanities and Social Science Foundation of MOE and have published more than one hundred of influential papers in journals like Science, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, American Journal of Psychiatry, UT Dallas 24, FT 50, Management World, Journal of Management Science, Journal of Psychology. The laboratory has won Jiang Yiwei Management Award and China Information Economics Award and also help the Department of Management Science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in organizing the Double-Qing Forum on the Theory, Method and Application of Neurology Management.
